Russia’s AvtoVAZ to raise Lada car prices 9% from Thursday
MOSCOW, Jan 13 (PRIME) -- Russian car producer AvtoVAZ will boost prices for its Lada cars by 9% on average from Thursday due to the ruble weakening, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
“AvtoVAZ is forced to notify on the producer price increase one of the last among car producers. We used to hope that the Russian economic situation will soon improve but, unfortunately, it did not happen,” CEO Bo Anderssen said, as cited in the statement.
The producer price for AvtoVAZ’s bestselling model Lada Granta sedan will grow 5.8% to 311.600 rubles for basic configuration. Prices for other models will increase between 7.6% for Lada 4X4 cars to 395.000 rubles and 12.3% for Lada Largus Cross to 553.000 rubles.
